Introduction:

Martyn Jack received a Diploma in Amenity Horticulture at Pershore College of Horticulture in Worcestershire, UK.  He worked for the National Trust in England at Farnborough Hall and Packwood House in Warwickshire.  From there he went as Head Gardener to Hodnet Hall Gardens in Shropshire before being sponsored out to the United States as part of the design and installation team for the Quaker Hill Native Plant Garden, in Pawling, Upstate New York.  The owner of the garden, William Ziff, was dedicated to creating a 250 acre garden which was devoted to native plants from east of the Mississippi River to Maine.  After being there for five years he moved to look after a large private residential garden on the Mainline, Pennsylvania.  Finally, settling in Washington State as Head Gardener for Paul Allen and starting his own business.  He has been in full time business for approximately 20 years offering a hands-on approach to fine gardening and garden consultancy.  Lydia, his daughter, officially joined the business in 2018.  She graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.  She has had hands-on training from Martyn on how to maintain high end residential properties and has gained experience managing her own properties doing both garden maintenance and design.
